Trapped by Life

Recently my mom has been really into making these creations. They are actually really cool but for my mom the have become an obsession so watch out!
To make these you take some ferns, mosses, and other plants.
you make an arrangement on a solid moveable service.
You put any kind of jar or vase over your arrangement of plants.
After a while the water from the plants gets trapped around the the surrounding glass and the plant waters itself.
Finally a beautiful creation. It is perfect for gifts because after these steps you don't have to water it anymore(unless you can tell the plant is really dry and the water is not being trapped.)

Christmas Tragedy

Santa's little helpers work long and hard to decorate the Christmas tree!
Mrs. Clause spends her time carefully unwrapping her favorite ornaments.
Here's Ryan elf placing a beautiful ornament on the tree.
Ryan elf is shocked that he was left out of the family ornament.
Ryan elf still celebrates the joy of decorating such a lovely tree.
But when Mrs. Clause got home, there the beautiful tree was lying on the ground with her favorite ornaments shattered.
So here the CHristmas tree sits in the poring rain, feeling guilty for smashing the ornaments and Mrs. Clauses's heart. Sad day.

Christmas Parties

Every year at church we collect money for the Y.E.S. foundation. The youth group takes that money and goes out and buys Christmas presents for mothers to buy cheaply for their kids. Its a fun experience and afterwards we get to have Christmas Parties!

Getting ready to go to Walmart.

The Small Gifts That Count

This year for Christmas I had a major eye-opener. Someone reminded me that Christmas was the night where Jesus gave up his perfect world in heaven to come into our world full os sin and disaster, and be born among stinky gross animals. He saw a need for a savior in our life even though we didn't exactly live to please him. In other words we were that friend that can be great but some times the forgot about you, stabbed you in the back, talked about you behind your back, and did the exact things that drove you crazy. But Jesus decided to not focus on what he desired, but zoomed into our lives and the needs he noticed that no one else did. So Christmas should be about us thanking Jesus by being like him. We should look around us for other peoples needs and try and find ways to cheer them on. In order to do this i did something small, but i hope it made a bigger difference.

I went out and got lots of candy.

I made a list of a lot of people I talk to but don't necessarily know that well or even get along with that well.

I filled boxes with candies and mints.

I laid out the boxes and wrote everyone a note describing a little of our relationship and what i know about them.

I packaged them up and took them to school. I am hopping that maybe someone was having a rough day and me giving one of these simple boxes made them feel loved and admired. This is one of the ways I'm choosing to celebrate Christmas. What will you do?
